Flaming River now manufactures NEW aftermarket steering boxes for the 1963-82 Corvette. These new steering boxes are manufactured using the highest quality all new components - sector, recalculating ball worm and nut, bushing and roller bearings. Even the casting and cap are new! (this also means no core charge is required!) This unit is dimensionally interchangeable with the original, but all new parts will bring back performance steering and handling to your vehicle. Of course, the ratio is the quick 12:1 design preferred by enthusiasts.

Rebuild In A Box 63-82 Corvette Box Internal Parts Kit For Original Box
For the Corvette enthusiast who would prefer to keep the original GM casting, we offer a parts kit to rebuild your own box. Most rebuild boxes on the market only have new bearings, races and seals installed. The worm and nut and sector, which are the critical parts that are needed for that new steering response, are not available NEW so the old parts are recycled into rebuilt boxes. The Flaming River "REBUILD IN A BOX" enables you to remanufacture your own steering box with ALL NEW components including:
Worm and Nut 12: 1 Ratio, Sector Shaft, Bushing Kit and Bearing & Seal Kit.
Note:
Remanufacturing your own steering box requires technical expertise and some machining may be necessary ( i. e. bushings).
